I may be a cynic but how can I get behind this video when I see a tiny fragment of diversity and coverage of the area? I was born in Eastown and have lived in the downtown Grand Rapids area for an equivalent of 25 years and as a women, a minority, and an artist I do not feel this clip represents the city we live in or the community that all people would want to come flocking to. Dont get me wrong, I love this city but I cant fully get behind this imagery or sentiment. If we really want people to know why this place is awesome we have to dig a great deal deeper when trying to paint our picture. Thats how I feel.
