I may be wrong but it seems to me that often times we punish the wrong people for what has been done to us that we think is wrong. Someone hurts us, so we kick the dog, and not knowing why he was kicked, he growls at the cat! And the cat looks at the dog dumbfounded as if to say "what did I do?" And we do that with people. The last guy hurt me so I am going to give the new guy a cold shoulder. Someone in a group said something that hurt my feelings so I am going to punish the whole group by my absence. Ask yourself today-Am I punishing the wrong people for my hurts? And is it really worth it to concentrate on the hurts of the past at all, much less kick the dog or someone else?
