I may not be a crazy hockey parent! But I am definitely a crazy, competitive swim mom! Today was a hard day for my Nathaniel. He was disqualified for a false start in his favourite event at regionals that qualifies him for provincials that he was placed 2 overall provincially! He handled it so well as I had to almost hide as I was about to implode in a rage of tears. As I recovered from it and hoped for him to do better in his next swim, he got disqualified again for a turn. I thought for sure that he would throw himself to the ground and every swear would fall out of his mouth. He shocked me! Nathaniel handled it like a man. I was so proud of him and his swim mates. Swimmers from other teams supported him and made him fell better. Making me so happy to see all the friendships that he is making. Even though his day was horrible he was still having fun! This summer he has shocked me so many times. With Junior High just around the corner he has made me so proud! His sportsmanship and maturity had improved so much in the last month he is almost unrecognizable to me! I told him I was just as proud of him today as I was when he won 4 provincial medals last year. After doing my 5 days of thankfulness, I am truly thankful for today! I feel way more confident that my son is turning into a wonderful man and believe he might be ready for Junior High! I LOVE him sooooo much I could eat him!
