I met Muhammad Mehdi Saleh al-Raawi, the former Iraqi Minister of Trade, in his office in Baghdad, prior the 2003 Bush invasion of Iraq. That was a great honor. US forces were surprised to find food supplies to feed all Iraqi citizens for over 6 months despite the 13 years of the ruthless sanctions imposed against Iraq by the West. He was jailed for 9 years by the Americans and their stooges. None of the Iraqi officials prior to the invasion stole a penny that belongs to the Iraqi people. At present, this man lives in a small and humble apartment in Amman. Abed Falah as-Sudani, the man the Americans handpicked from the streets of London and appointed as a replacement for Mr. Rawi, served only for a few months. He is now milliard ire. He owns palaces, corporations, and a fleet of the most expensive cars. He has an army of bodyguards. That applies to every Iraqi politician brought to Iraq behind US tanks. That also explains why half of the Iraqi population today goes to bed hungry despite the fact that Iraq is one of the richest countries.
