I miss the funny things you’d say and that twinkle in your eyes How you’d see when I was down and in your face I saw you cared And When I needed to lighten up, you’d give it your best try I don’t really think I knew exactly how much you meant to me But it’s been so long since we last talked and in my heart I feel That not only were you dad to me, but my best friend as well No matter what I ever did, you just kept loving me for me You listened to my crazy dreams, and taught me how to fly You added caution to my ambition, and logic to my goals You never squashed a reputation; you’d pray for them instead You weren’t afraid to apologize and you did it from your heart And all those years I watched you more than you ever realized Your walk was not quite perfect; I saw you make mistakes But from how you handled those I’ve learned a wealth of good You deeply cared for others, understanding they were on a journey And somehow you’d feel the pain of another s bleeding heartbeat Dad, just by living you showed me how to live the love of God And one thing you’ve deeply instilled in me is this beautiful hope of heaven Though I miss talking and imagining with you about how amazing heaven must be I now imagine that the twinkle in your eyes would out dance the stars above When I finally get to heaven, and God in his great love leads me home Dad, ill run to you on streets of gold, straight into your arms And I can’t see how happy tears won’t fall in heaven that day But until then I want to live from what I’ve learned from you Both in your life and in your death to bring honor and glory to Jesus Name I still mean this, Dad, I miss you! Time cannot steal the years Ive had with you here. https://youtube/watch?v=uloaEY81hOQhad
