I miss the yearly hope from the Jerry Lewis MDA telethons. Do you? Notice I said Jerry Lewis MDA telethons. So, where did Jerry go? I know he was attacked by many for his ways supposedly causing some to feel demeaned by his remarks but come on; seriously?! His aim was to eradicate MD; I get it! Thin skin is in; how sad! I believe political correctness took him out. Jerry is old school and to survive in todays industry there are things you just cannot say or even imply; of course Christianity is free game! I have Duchenne MD. As of April 27 2014 I am an unprecedented 56 years old. Having googled and researched I find that I am at an age not reached by any other Duchenne MD victim. I guess thats a good thing. As for the MDA, I am off the radar, meaning MDA doesnt even know I exist; however, I am, and will always be one of Jerrys kids; blast stinkn political correctness! We, meaning I and other Duchenne MD victims back in the late 60s and 70s watched the Jerry Lewis telethons with hope; he was our personal hero to us; regardless of those who whine about that status; he was our, and millions of other victims hero. The others I knew have long since passed; only I am left; but their hope never died!
