I moved back to Ferndale, eight months ago, on Washington Street. - TopicsExpress

I moved back to Ferndale, eight months ago, on Washington Street. When I lived here in 2008, I lived down at the other end of Third Ave. I never heard a train there at that location. But I dont believe there were 9 trains a day as there is off and on now. These trains go through a crossing here that ALREADY HAVE gates, lights, and an audible signal. If this is not a QUIET ZONE design, what is? If it is a quiet zone, then why in the hell are these engineers laying on their horns, and doing different horn signals, and not the requirements laid out by the railroads? This has TOTALLY wrecked my lifestyle, and when I called the RR, they told me these freight trains dont run on any given schedule, and there will be more of them. So my question is: If I am not a machine, how can I live at all with these trains running no more than 250 yards from my apartment window. I have had to completely adjust my lifestyle to fit a train schedule that has no schedule. I now suffer from different medical maladies such as high blood pressure, and eye issues, to start with directly resulting from these trains, which the City Council just now sees as an issue? I believe, unless of course I am uninformed that this particular crossing is a quiet zone as it has all the requirements, so why the noise, and is the rail line trying to reduce the population?
