I must admit that I have been there done that, but I was lucky -- or maybe just sober enough to be careful enough not to cause any damage. If an ex drunk driver is worse than an ex smoker, so be it. I am both, and regret both. Still it seems miraculous that I suffered no great lasting serious effects from either, and I count my blessings for that. My heart and prayers go out to all the victims of drunk drivers and their families and friends who have suffered through the tragic aftermath. I may feel compassion for the drunk driver who causes death or serious injury, but have no sympathy for any consequences of their action. I think that they should face very grave penalties.
