I must quote the 5th sentence from Andy McCullough’s article - TopicsExpress

I must quote the 5th sentence from Andy McCullough’s article from the Kansas City Star about the Opening Day loss yesterday. I believe this sentence sums up on so many levels what is truly the matter with this organization. I don’t feel like I am overreacting over one loss, that to me is the least of our concerns. The fact that they lost the exact same way they have been for years is a little disturbing, however, I don’t believe that is really the problem here. I said they are mediocre and still feel that way. I don’t feel like they did nearly enough to actually better the team this offseason, so yes, I feel like yesterday’s game was one tiny sample of the mediocrity that is to come. What is worrisome to me, knowing this is not a direct quote from Ned himself, is the fact that very clearly, the leader of this team of young, impressionable players has given someone reason somewhere along the line to believe that he doesn’t even like Opening Day. “Yost dislikes the pomp and pageantry of Opening Day.” Read more here: kansascity/2014/03/31/4927751/royals-lose-opener-4-3-at-detroit.html#storylink=cpy Yost dislikes the pomp and pageantry of Opening Day. Of course he does. Why the hell wouldn’t he?! After all, celebrating a new season with his fellow players, coaches and fans seems like an awful way to spend a Monday afternoon. A sport that has given this man a lifetime of memories and dreams that have come true should obviously not be celebrated ever, let alone on the first day of each season. After all, those idiot fans that get all crazy about baseball don’t know anything, right? I find myself just flabbergasted at the amount of people that still blindly follow and support this man and the “leadership” of this organization above him. The one thing I keep hearing people say that defend GlAss is “he kept baseball in Kansas City!”. Here’s the thing…he can take this team and move it to Vegas for all I care. What is the point in keeping a team in a City when you have no intention whatsoever of doing whatever is necessary to put together the franchise how it used to be when it was relevant? He has made boatloads of money off this City and for those efforts, he has provided us consistently the worst organization from top to bottom in Major League Baseball. But hey, he kept it here in Kansas City. All I would say to anyone that takes that stance is this. If he packed them up and left tomorrow, we would have a new team with local ownership within 5 years. I for one can handle that. I won’t get off on a tangent about the owner here because he isn’t worth the workout my fingers are getting right now. Yost, I am very sorry you and your young, impressionable players have to go through the terrible and obviously obnoxious motions of Opening Day when all the sheep are out there blindly celebrating the game that so many love with all their heart and soul. I know, it must be a real pain in your ass seeing every little kid in the stands eyes light up with pure joy of seeing their hero playing catch before the game. Seeing the child with his or her father and grandfather at a game with the sun shining, the smell of fresh cut grass and the pop of the leather with each catch that is made, all these things must drive you up a wall. Ned, you are a born and bred loser. I hope people understand my problem with you isn’t your deplorable in-game management. That is what it is, this organization hasn’t had a decent in-game manager in many years. My problem with you is how you have taken what is nationally recognized as some of the best talent in the league and made sure it progresses and develops as slowly as you possibly can. Everyone says you are great to have around young players. Why? Since when? As far as I can tell, you are a detriment to these young players and their development. In short, you make me sick. Yeah, youre right though, I can see all the things about Opening Day that are so terrible. The smiles, the sounds, the weather, the stadium and on and on and on. What a miserable day that must be for all of you. Its a shame these young players cant be led by someone that actually loves baseball. Yost hates Opening Day, the Owner doesnt attend Opening Day ever, and the GM hired Yost so he seems to think this is all acceptable. And people actually think this team is going to compete for a playoff spot. Unfortunately, they wont, and it runs much deeper than players. #BeRoyalYost #Yosted
