I must share something that happened to me yesterday. My siblings and I all met for breakfast at Ocean Breeze in Shelby. We do this every couple months, in order to give our rich brothers a chance to fight over the bill! Lol! Anyway, afterwards, my sisters and I went on a mini shop hop to quilt shops in the area. We can heartily recommend them! Time Remembered on 21 Mile and Garfield is amazing, Barb the owner is very nice, we signed up for a day of open sewing on the spot! Then we went to Decorative Stitch on Van Dyke and 22 Mile, which was closed for the holiday! We had a few choice words about them not being open! Well as we were staring in the windows like the old Kohls ad (Open, Open, Open!, with our noses pressed to the windows) a huge boxer dog came up to the window and started barking! Security, or so we thought. Well right behind the dog was the owners husband, and he said come on in and opened the doors for us! We hesitated, but he said he would never turn down 3 quilters on a shop hop! He said he had already let some women from Fenton shop earlier! How nice of him. His wife was there also, and they were so nice. Best PR they never had to buy! They let us shop at sale prices (starts tomorrow), showed us amazing class ideas, we plan on taking a couple. By then we were hungry again, so we decided on Chinese. While eating our soup, a man and his wife were leaving, my sister Donna sayid to the man hey what are you doing here? It was a guy she graduated with, and they stopped and talked for awhile. When we finished our meal, and decided to high tail it to St Lawrence to finish our day with Mass, we were told we owed nothing, that the gentleman had paid our bill! What a beautiful ending to a lovely day with my sisters! Tony Macha, you are truly a gentleman AND a scholar! What a nice thing to do! Oh, and we also hit Hobby Lobby, cant believe Sister Mary has never been there! Do you know that on Thursdays, Hobby Lobby has bible study in their classroom? All in all, definitely a day to write home about, and I guess I just did!
