I must take a moment today to wish a very special person a HUGE & SPECIAL HAPPY BIRTHDAY .. he is not only an AMAZING GUITARIST in the PUNK & METAL world but a friend who never ceases to amaze me with his humble and gracious demeanor. Today marks the birthday of a man who clearly was put here on earth to etch his mark on the music world that can never be duplicated nor denied ... in 1973 he formed one of the most iconic punk bands out of NYC .. The Dictators .. which started a huge wave for the Punk Rock genre. After several albums he went to France for one year to play in Shakin Streets which was the supporting act on the Heaven n Hell tour .. not to shabby ... it was during that tour that the man himself Mr. Ronnie James Dio introduced him to Joey DeMaio and MANOWAR was born ... I have been a fan of both bands for many many many years and spent many dollars on tickets, shirts, albums etc... even hung out with them at Sundance oodles of years ago. To my astonishment my very sweet and good friends in MAGUS BEAST, who were performing at the last weekend my clubhouse was open .. brought this amazing man with them to perform a special set of MANOWAR for me...I was like a giddy little teenager all day that day and could not wait to meet him .. I drove my household nuts actually .. lol ... Since that day I have been blessed to be able to say he is a friend and whenever I see him it amazes me how humble he is as fans swarm him wanting pictures or just to chat. He shuns no one and his kind nature is always something I find myself watching from a distance. You Ross Friedman are one of the most amazing people I have ever met and I have so much respect and love for you. YOU .. as far as I am concerned .. are MANOWAR and without you in the band it will never be what it was ... you formed it .. wrote the songs and performed in front of tens of thousands of people. You are doing it all over again with DEATH DEALER and once again putting another stamp on the Metal world. I hope you have the most amazing BIRTHDAY ever and as one of your biggest fans I thank you for all your contributions and hours of great METAL I get to listen too!!! here is Ross and friends doing an EPIC performance of Battle Hymns .. one of the songs that was written by ROSS to a crowd of fans that we will never see here in the States ... lol ...
