I need confirmation from the ladies............. This is regarding something that has happened to me a lot in the workplace, as well as other private and public venues. Heres an example.......... Im exiting a building at work and entering the interior courtyard, on my way to another building. As I open the door, I notice a 20-30 something year old lady about 30 feet away walking my direction holding what appears to be a hot bowl of oatmeal or soup like substance in both hands. Now being the nice guy that I am, I naturally hold the door open for her so that she could conveniently walk through without spilling her food. But check this out!!!! As Im holding the door open so that she could walk through, she signals me to stop. At this point Im a little perplexed and didnt respond and continued to hold the door open. She then spoke and told me that, it was okay and that she didnt need me to hold the door open for her. Puzzled, I asked her, are you sure? She then said no thanks as she approached me. Feeling confused and for some reason insulted, I smiled at her, shrugged my shoulders with an okay/oh well gesture, let the door close behind me, and walked away. The funny thing is, she attempted to catch the door before it closed as I passed her. She not only missed the door by a fraction of a second, but she ended up spilling some of her food in the process, giving me a dirty smirk as if it was all my fault. I just laughed in my head,.... Thats what your little vain ass gets. I wasnt even interested in her, as the thought never even existed in my mind to begin with. Now ladies, in my opinion this girl ( Im gonna call her girl at this point due to her attitude) was 100% arrogant and ASSUMED I was interested in her, or was trying to flirt. She most likely has a significant other and got all defensive, feeling her man was being threatened, by lil ole ME!!!. Is this true? And if so, why is it that ladies generally assume guys are trying to get at them or automatically are interested in them when they are being a gentleman?
