I need some advice from the printers here please. I did a test on a thin negative- the type that always kills me with MG RC and my low contrast colour head enlarger. From L-R -Ilford MG IV RC -Ilfospeed #3 RC -Ilfobrom #3 FB -Ilfobrom #4 FB -Agfa MG FB Im blown away at how the Ilfobrom magically fixes my crappy thin neg and gives me a beautiful contrasty print. Is the difference Im seeing because its graded paper, because its FB or both? Im confused because Agfa MG FB doesnt seem as magical as the Ilfobrom. Maybe its a bit fogged or I over developed it. Will MG FB such as Fomabrom 112 or 111 be as magical as the Ilfobrom is or do I need a graded FB paper (which isnt easy to buy nowadays)? Thanks in advance!
