I need to set the record straight. TD VISA DEBIT cards work fine in the States as long as youve called the loss prevention hotline PRIOR to your trip to let them know!! If you havent, like this idiot didnt, then they will freeze your card after a few transactions. This is the first trip that I did not use travelers cheques. There are more and more places that dont accept travelers cheques. So I thought Id just use cash and my debit card. Even with that said, I think Ill have to break down and get a credit card. Some places, like renting the car and paying for the hotel, wont take visa debits. So my apologies for my rant. It was my fault.
