I normally do not post political posts, but today I cannot be quiet. Ron Bohn has an advertisement in this weeks Independent-Journal that he is for HB 1526 - Teacher Job Performance. He states, If a teacher is doing a bad job, they should be able to get fired for it, just like any other job. Teachers should be held accountable and my opponent thinks that teachers should stay employed even if they perform poorly. Its not a complicated bill. Its very straightforward and I encourage you to read it. Mr. Bohn, teachers tenure law allows for teachers to be fired; the district has a due process to follow. Its not complicated; its very straightforward. I suggest you read it. Teachers are accountable. They should not be judged on one test score per year. Any educated person knows that many uncontrollable variables affect that score. One test score does not prove what a student has learned. Students are human beings, not robots that can be computer chipped with information. By the way, how much money did you receive from Rex Sniquefield? There are over 60,000 teachers in the state of Missouri. Maybe its time we all banned together and voted these people out of office. Paul Fitzwater, you have my vote.
