For the most part, the counselors and staff were whole heartedly devoted to helping the clients, and worked there at a deficit to what their skills would have brought elsewhere. Curiously, the top admin. and board members all drove Mercedes and Volvos. One of the admins once posted outside their office, I suppose as an aid to helping clients understand how much they needed to make in order to be self-sufficient, an info chart similar to this one. As the staff were looking at the chart that morning it was posted, one brave soul said out loud But most of us that work here dont make that much. We need to address that in the next budget meeting with the board. Before the end of that day the poster mysteriously disappeared and was never seen again. Demand that any charities you contribute to pay a living wage before they pay high salaries to their executives.
