I ordered a dozen keets from TSC that should be in either Tue, Wed or Thurs. (they cant tell me which day the guineas will be in) Trying to get all ready for them. I have chick starter crumbles for the three chicks my granddaughters photographer gave to me after I picked up the baby bunnies she borrowed from us for her Easter shoots. :) (BONUS!) Is this appropriate or should I get something else for the guineas? (its the medicated variety) Ive been told turkey starter, game bird starter and reg. chick starter and just not sure who to believe. What say ye? ... Im in MI and its still cold so they will be in the house with my three chicks who are in a cage with a towel over the wire floor and a brooder light. How long before they are ready for the heat lamp removal and will they ever be okay to be on the wire bottom of the rabbit cage they are being housed in or would that just be too upsetting to their fragile feet? Getting a coop for them but not yet here. Also, at what age do you dare allow them outside loose? Eventually, I need them free ranging but hopefully roosting in the coop at night with my chickens. I have steel privacy fencing. Not sure how tempted they will be to fly out. 6 high, solid.
