I owned a pitbull. She was my pet and we raised her as a pet. She never bit anyone and she was loved by me and my whole family. Even when she was no longer a puppy shed climb into my lap and lick my face. This is why I say pitbulls are aggressive but they are only deadly if they are raised to be that way. I am sickened at the horrible death this woman who was mauled by the two pitbulls has experienced. The two dogs who did this are beyond rehabilitation at this point. They killed a human and even as we speak the taste of her blood is still on them. They are a danger to everyone around them including their owners and need to be put down. The last thing I will mention is that the victim was reportedly mentally ill. I am only mentioning it because I have seen some insensitive comments about people who are mentally hill and wandering the streets. Let me say the fact that this woman may have had some mental health issues does not make her life less valuable nor her death less horrific. Her death has nothing to do with her mental health nor the problem of people with mental illness roaming the streets because as a country there exists limited care, support and treatment for these issues. Those are real issues but this woman went into the yard where she lives and was killed by dogs who were raised to attack people they do not know because security remains a huge issue in our country.
