I painted this for a friend whose favorite masjid is in Iraq. This painting represents the glowing faith within, by depicting a masjid as a lantern in a garden. At first glance, what looks like a life-sized masjid is actually a lantern. Large roses sit in the foreground and behind them is a miniature masjid lantern with candles illuminating through. The light radiating from the candle flames bear similarity to peacock feathers. Gold coins fall from above and land in the path in front of the masjid. (Acrylic on Canvas, 2014, Corey Habbas)
