I personally reject the fee increase of 9,25%. 1. It is above the external inflation rate. 2. It is above the nsfas increament rate. Once the students are rejected by NSFAS it result to outstanding balance, and once students owe more money it result to few rejistering. Lets say R5 000 000 was provided for nsfas last 2014, then only few students then taken. Then 2015 lets say R5 200 000 is to be provided, thats 3,85% increase. Yet the fee increase is 9,25%. With the above calculations it brings me to a conclusion of saying: 9,25%-3,85%=5,4% will be lost to accomdated students as per nsfas increase. And it must noted that first years are not included in here. The leadership must debate now the nsfas increase rate as they seat at the national nsfas board. After they must adjust the fee incease as per nsfas increase. Nsfas % is estimated for this example its not the one they will used, please note that. Regards Collen #SU
