I petted a possum today. 56 years of living and finally the day arrived. Now I want one. I thought about petting the screech owl but the lady warned against it. If I still fancied having all my digits, which I did. The box turtle was nice. Apparently, some hoarder type woman took a fascination for box turtles and had a herd of about 30 or so. She died. The heirs to the turtle bonanza found themselves in a pickle. It is highly illegal in the State of Tennessee to have box turtles in your possession. You might as well be running a meth lab or something per the law. Anyway, this turtle was lucky and wound up in the loving arms of Waldens Puddle - animal rehabilitation center. I think I would like to do some volunteer work there. Seems like a good crew of folks and a worthy cause. The turtle, by the by, had attended the 1960s Worlds Fair. Seems the woman took the turtle everywhere. The turtle was not afraid of people in the least, being quite personable. Estimated age of turtle was 60 years. I didnt know they lived that long. Learn something new everyday or so.
