I picked up my stash today after letting it stew for 4 wednesdays: 30 singles, 2 trades. ive devoured 12 of the singles so far and this is what I rate them from best to less best. #1 - Silver Surfer 5. There were a lot of great books from the dozen, but when a title has perfect writing AND perfect art, it is a clear winner. Allred + Slott, cant get better. #2 - Multiversity 1. A Grant Morrison, company wide DC event! I am excited! It reminds me of the original Crisis so bad. This has got my blood pumping and issue one is no slacker. #3 - Avengers 34. Yus art is flawless in this issue as it has been for the entire arc. Shit is getting complex and all timey whimey. Plus, I am a sucker for a well written Kang. #4 - New Avengers 22. Namor is starting shit with EVERYBODY. BP is not pleased. Blood vendettas are made. Plus: first issue of new series penciler, Kev Walker! #5 - Iron Fist The Living Weapon 5. I love how mystical and strange this book keeps getting. 2014 has been crazy, an Iron Fist book on my pull list...ha! #6 - The Superior Spider-Man 32. Where was Otto during that one hour he disappeared in issue 19? Right here. SPIDER-VERSE begins with EDGE. #7 - Avengers Undercover 8. 3 months later. These kids are in it too deep. Zemos true plan revealed! #8 - Uncanny Avengers 23 - What a monster of a story arc, 17 issues! So many changes to the cast, its hard to believe that this is set in the 616. Hints of a possible return of a very beloved x-mythos characters. And a second helping of Immortus! #9 - Rocket Raccoon 2. That Skottie Young art tho. A funny and eyeball pleasuring second issue with tons of funky aliens. Just fun. #10 - Amazing X-Men 10. The best part of Amazing is the dialogue. It feels like real x-men. I will miss the always hit combo of Kyle-Yost when they leave this book. Also, Alpha Flight. #11 - All New Ghost Rider 6. No Tradd Moore this issue but at least the fill in artist is close to his style. Story is still progressing nicely...and I think I spotted Johnny Blaze. #12 - New Warriors 8. The team is really starting to gel. I dont like that we swerved from the more interesting High Evolutionary stuff to the less pleasant Inhumans fad but the dialogue was great with top notch pencils.
