I pondered this status for a while, probably days, before posting it. One year ago today, as I was getting to Carters soccer game, I received the phone call that would change my life. Today a year ago, I found out I had breast cancer. I could tell ya all the bad things, all the aches and pains, side effects from the medicine, etc...but you can google and learn all that. What I will tell you is all the good that has happened in the past year. Of course watching Maddox grow up is number one! I have grown in my faith and my walk with God. People have surpassed what I thought kindness was. We have been blessed with family, friends, and even strangers doing so many kind things for us. From dinners, cards, messages, and gifts... to baby sitting, cleaning the house, fund raising, and taking me to doctor appointments...to holding my hand, praying with me, laughing with me, crying with me...I have had constant LOVE through out this journey. To say it has been easy would be a lie, to say it has been eye-opening in many ways would be the truth. I see life in a brighter light, a positive light! I see the good in everything, everyday, every person. Life is short, we all know that but to be given a time line on life is eye-opening, scary, surreal. Thank you to all those who have made this year a little easier. I love you all! Now, go make the best of your day, hug your kids, laugh, tell someone you love them, LIVE life to the fullest. And praise God for all his goodness!
