I predict that Christianity is going to be used and abused for increasingly tyrannical purposes as time goes on. The writing is already on the wall. It’s already happening. The world has traveled down an ugly road over the last 30 years or so. Conservatives have convinced people that the poor are the enemy and they’re coming after your resources. They’ve convinced people that gay folks are the enemy and they’re coming after your kids. They’ve convinced people that women are the enemy and all they want is for you to pay for their birth control so they can be little sluts. They’ve convinced people that Muslims are the enemy and they’re coming to invade your country and convert everyone to Islam. Be forewarned. NONE of this represents Christianity. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. It is NOT demonizing the poor, slut-shaming women, and wishing we could stone gay people. None of us needs to be afraid though. Jesus has already overcome the world. God ALWAYS raises up a remnant who will speak the truth. We honestly believe YOU are part of that remnant. Proceed accordingly.
