I promised an update of Floyd and I hope you are not getting tired of me.After his long surgery, very extensive, he is faring well right now. He thinks he should be able to walk, etc. already. In 24 hours he has gotten the tube out of his throat, had several tubes removed, sat up in a chair for 2 hours, and eaten already. He is an old man trying to do this as fast as a young man does it, and does not realize he is progressing very well for his age.. We will not be out of the woods for several days, until he is moved to stepdown. He may have to have rehab after he gets better. The doctors say he is doing well under the circumstances of his lungs being bad too. The new bovine aorta has to heal and make it easier for his heart to beat correctly. It is not a short stint and boom, you are well. I hope he doesnt give up now that we have gotten this far. He always lights up when I am in the room, and seems to give him more strength to fight. If there was room, I would climb up beside him and stay with him but there is not room in the small bed in ICU. I have slept in the waiting room in chairs to be there for him. It is my hope that he will get out of ICU soon so I can sleep in the room and he will know I am there. We seem to feed off of each other and lend the other strength. After almost 61 years, we almost think alike and can read each other. God bless him and help him heal and feel like he has quality of life and can enjoy the time we have left on earth together. Thank you all for your support as I think it is heiping him fight a little harder.
