I propose that it is, the spirit, of a man, that lies at the core, of his identity. That being the very thing, that makes him conscious, that makes him able, to reflect, on himself It does seem, that we spend a disproportionate, amount of time, paying attention, to that which, resides on the peripheral. If, what I desire, is the awakening, of a man That which is the person, “is” spiritual, and he “has” a psychophysical overlay If that is a likelihood, I cannot really say, I “have” a self, rather that I “am” a self Did God not, in telling Abraham, His name, said, “I Am” Psychology has been, primarily plummeting, the realm of the psychosomatic, and as a result has, neglected, the spirit of man. By default then, leaving that, as if it were a separate thing, to those of religious orientation It is important, I think, to recognize, the aspects of conscious, and unconscious We would probably agree, that the lager part, of our cognitive processes, resides in the unconsciousness Imposing, almost at will, itself, on the conscience I propose, it is the same, with the spirit Could, it be? That human existence, is in essence, driven by the unconscious? By that, I do not mean, in the way Freud implied, a response , to mechanistic drives, escalating out of the physical But a psychophysical reply, to that which be vested in, the spirit of man How do we reflect, on that, which we cannot measure? What yardstick, shall I use, to take the measure, of a man’s spirit?
