I purchased a horse last year (with a 5 stage vetting). - TopicsExpress

I purchased a horse last year (with a 5 stage vetting). Unfortunately I didnt get X-rays done. It has become increasingly obvious that the fetlock joint was medicated when I got him. Alas, hell never make an eventer as his fetlock joint swells up if he jumps, but hes proving to be a very willing and talented dressage horse and the joint is coping well without the trauma of jumping. He has had a course of cartrofen and wears his equi-streamz bands all the time. Hes also on a good joint supplement from the vets and has a heart bar shoe with gel filler to give more support, so I think Ive got most angles covered. Someone advised I-wrap treatment. I cant find any information on tinternet about such treatment. Can anyone advise or point me in the right direction so I can have a read up about it. As I said, the joint is coping well now, but we all know arthritis is a degenerative joint disease, so if something can be done to help him stay sound for longer Im willing to give it a try. Put it this way, I wont be medicating the joint and selling him on!
