I question many people who call themselves animal lovers. Over the last few days, with neutering, I noticed things which were said, which I found hard to understand. One was with Bobtail. He is a male tom cat with only half a tail, hence his name. 18 months ago, I managed to get him into a cage, in preparation for neutering. The little rascal, jumped out and bit me, which hurt. Then I didnt see him for many months. One day on the back streets, I noticed him and called out BOBTAIL. He stopped, looked at me and I was glad to see him back on the scene. There was no way he could be handled. He would have to be trapped, which happened this time round. However, the area he is in, the people who have a second home here, wont feed him. Why? Because he is a boy!!!! We made sure he made up for it this morning, when we went round and fed all the strays. He was starving!!!! Why because he was a boy was he excluded from being given food? The other is a lady who brought a young kitten to be neutered, which she found in her garden. She has over 3 stremma of land and there was no way she could possibly look after this kitten and couldnt afford another mouth to feed. She only has a couple of dogs and then she complained that she feeds 6 dogs on her rounds. This kitten would have been OK, but the excuses I heard, were just totally pathetic. After the neutering, the kitten was left with me, as she wasnt prepared to take it back with her. Do I need any more kittens? Over 100 pussy cats in various colonies, doggies and puppies to feed, I suppose to some it might seem we can manage another one, but I do want to reduce the numbers, especially in this open field and not add further. Yesterday I got a call from this lady and was asked How is my little girl?
