I ran into an older gentleman I know last night on the street I live on, outside a bar stumbling while trying to keep the beer in his bottle with a tissue...I knew this man had recently lost his wife...so I walked over to him and checked on him and offered him a smoke. He could barely stand and I saw kids inside the bar window past the band laughing at him..I could feel the pain radiating off him. We stood in silence a few mins while I repeated I know man, I know... Its all I could say and we both knew words would not fix this pain....then, as I was about to walk away back to where I had been, he finally spoke up and said to me, with pain in his eyes....Doug...Thank You. Never Fall In Love I could feel his pain before he said any of this..I lit his cigarette, put another in his jacket pocket and we parted ways. I wont forget the pain that man held in his eyes. I had only seen the look a few other times in my life.. I am mentioning this here because....Im not sure why...But I felt it worth mentioning. Always keep in mind, people may have a lot more going on you do not know about in the background.
