I ran my first World Cross Country Championships race in Glasgow, - TopicsExpress

I ran my first World Cross Country Championships race in Glasgow, Scotland back in 1978. It rained, snowed, sleeted, and hailed during that March race. The mud was so bad that some competitors lost shoes and they never surfaced again! Still Scotland has a special place in my heart because of that race. Today, Scotland is voting on whether to leave the United Kingdom and become a truly independent country. A lot will ride on how the youngest (age 16-24) voters will decide. Scotland has been intertwined with England since 1707 and together with Wales and Northern Ireland... make up the UK. It has been said that the vote of 5 million Scots... will certainly and dramatically affect the lives of 60 million people in the UK.... far beyond the Scottish borders. Results should be in soon. It will be interesting to see what shape the UK takes on as of tomorrow. Change is probably inevitable either way it turns out.
