I read that the NY Daily news posted a political cartoon that compared the Redskins logo to the swastika and the confederate flag. As an innocent observer I seem to think that promoting political correctness conjures up more disharmony than it ought. Never mind the absurdity of it all. I try to rationalize that the fervor of this politically correct movement arises from the fact that America is still a baby nation as compared to the rest of the world, and thereby entitled to pull a few of its silly tantrums. However, as a former linguistic student, I daresay we need to wipe away such phrases as the following, just to be politically consistent and to further the cause: red tide; black widow spider; wandering jew; Italian seasoning (yes, that one personally offends me); yellow snow; gay Paree; and of course, the biggest offender of them all....Scotch tape. I mean, havent you always wondered why those sneaky Scotch people were taping you anyway?
