I read this at medium speed. It needs songs. It needs other ways to get the message out, besides an article singin to the choir, besides college age english nodding mm hmm, yes we can recall that. I want to go back and read it more slowly, sometime when Im not rushing off to work, to over-protect things there because them failing would cost us a buncha things (money sure, but sanity probably). Ive been saying for years that we forgot how to teach _responsibility_ to people while they were young enough to get wired up for it being normal. This suggests were also failing to teach reasonable expectations about what risk even feels like. To my kind of people, the DHMO scare is *funny* like business cat LOL-memes are funny. To the most careful of ordinary parents, with context stripped so easily… only the risk lives, and the risk lives more than they do, and DHMO might as well be malathion.
