I really appreciate compromise when both parties are aiming for a similar goal. But the Republicans have worked to and succeeded at shutting down the federal government because they have a goal which is antithetical to traditional government in America. Their goal is to undo almost all centralized federal powers of government and move them to the state where one by one they can be sold off to corporate sponsors. Not to say that corporations have not found a way to profit wildly from the federal government, they have! Its just that Republicans have not been able to profit off of that situation as much as they want to so they are trying to localize control of the government profiteering and feed off the corporate trough. Its not the size of government they have a problem with, it is who gets to profit off of it that is at issue. Our goal as citizens should be to pry the greedy corporate hands out of the taxpayers pockets and out of the citizens houses of government at every level from city to state to federal government and restore the peoples priorities and sensibilities to our nation. So to that end I will not advocate or easily tolerate compromising with a group of people elected to office to accomplish what was decided in our costly civil war of the 1800s. This issue must be finally decided by the people and with the ballot not the bullet. The Republican Party has cast aside the American tradition of working with the party in power to forge solutions and blocked even the least partisan appointments of judges and Ambassadorships while millions of Americans still need jobs, health care, and affordable education and while we are in fact still at war! While we are still at war with an enemy bent on our destruction they sue the Commander In Chief over his timing of enacting and expansion of health care insurance to the people! The Republicans blocked Medicaid expansion to millions of the poorest most in need citizens in their states while simultaneously voting to continue costly tax breaks to corporations who move overseas to avoid paying taxes and cutting food aid to the poor and disabled through SNAP! Starving the federal government of tax revenue because they want to eviscerate it is one thing but starving the people of healthcare and food aid is unconscionable. I can not imagine more damage being done by a foreign power to Ameca than this Republican Congress and their state governors have done in the past four or five years and had we been attacked in this way we surely would be at war. The Republican gentleman from Alabama this week said we are waging a war on white people. I say we are living through a war on all of us by insurgents in our own country and government in the name of greed and power. I hope everyone who understands this helps to get the vote out and get these people out of the government they are so willing to loot and destroy.
