I really dont mind cold weather. I really dont have a deep love - TopicsExpress

I really dont mind cold weather. I really dont have a deep love for snow but I deal. Not that we have a choice. The biggest problem with winter in Maine is when things thaw out or we get some rain just before a cold snap, is the ice that follows. As a police officer, ice is not a friendly visitor due to the increase in accidents and other ice related events that happen on roads and highways. For a pedestrian or shut in, it is a nightmare. The National Weather Service put out an ice warning last night and I have found evidence in the DOORYAAHD, (its a word) that proves the warning was correct. Walkways and intersections will be an issue for those walking and driving today. The blast of cold air is going to make the wet spots slippery. Be careful. What else? The weather ahead looks terrific, chilly but with some sun. For more details on that , speak to a meteorologist. Officers of the Special Enforcement Team will be featured players at local intersections today. Run the red, get a summons. After stopping many, many cars and writing numerous tickets over the last couple of weeks, it just keeps on. Slow to a stop on the yellow, do not run the red. If the car in front of you runs the red light, that is not a freebie for you. Stop. New officer interviews coming this week. It is always a favorite here to get the scoop on the new men and women of the Bangor Police Department. The interview questions are, well, not ordinary. Check them out. LIKE our page, share it with a friend. We appreciate you. The men and women of the Bangor Police Department will be here!
