I really enjoyed my day yesterday with childhood friends Mary Linn Eddy , Linda Carpenter, and Rosie carpenter Heston. Mary, Linda and I visited Catawba where we all grew up although Catawba is overgrown with weeds and Vines with very few houses left. While we walked and reminisced about the old times it took on a long ago shine and in our minds no matter how it has changed it will still be that safe place where we played tin can alley, hide and seek, on those dusty dirt roads and swam in that muddy river and carved our names in a big oak, painted them on the stone bridge, or scratched it in the tar covering the train trestle. As we were driving home I noticed how late it was getting and said i would really like to get back on my Mountain before dark and Mary said yeah we need to be in before the street lights come on. We all laughed it was a perfect ending to a wonderful day.
