I really hate to bring this up, but I have another Sears - TopicsExpress

I really hate to bring this up, but I have another Sears installment. When I marched into Sears and demanded my money back for the washer/dryer combo - demanded sounds very aggressive, even though all I had to do was ask - they had to take me to a customer service office and research the original transaction before crediting me back my purchase price. Because of the mountain of hassles that had already come before, they had to give the money back as three separate credits to my debit card. I watched them do it - everything seemed great. Four or five days later I had the two smaller credits in my account, but the largest one ($629) wasnt there. I just figured the other two came through; the final one would be there in a day or two. Then we got busy with Christmas and I forgot to check. A few days ago I accessed my account and found the final credit never did show up. So today I was back at Sears to find out what gives? Justin was very helpful and pulled up the information on the computer. He could see the original purchase as well as the refunds. When he pointed to the one for $629, I said I never received it. A few more clicks on the computer revealed the account numbers all the refunds went to. The first two clearly showed the original debit account, but the third one had another number. Dude, thats not my account. After a little hemming and hawing by the rep, I asked, So, are you telling me Sears gave my $629 to someone else? He never answered in the affirmative, but thats what happened. Now we have to get Searss Loss Prevention Office involved, but that guy wasnt in the store today, so Ive been promised a phone call by noon tomorrow and assured, We will make this right. Did the Federal Government take over Sears when I wasnt looking? Go ahead; let the commentary begin. I can take it.
