I received a telephone call today asking how long have we had the Annual County Womens Retreats? And the what were the different locations where the past retreats were held and would we ever consider Central or South Kitsap for future retreats?Another question was, Where does the money go and how much do the speakers charge? This year is our third year and third retreat. In september 2011 a small group of us began to pray and plan for our first retreat in March 2012. Living Hope Foursquare in Indianola allowed us to host the retreat there. We were so blessed when 143 women attended from 9 different church families. Our first guest speaker/teacher was Vicky Bentley from Far Reaching Ministries. In March 2013, North Kitsap Baptist church allowed us to host our second retreat with Gisela Yohannon from Gospel For Asia, was our guest speaker/teacher with over 250 women. Praise the Lord! This year we are once again thankful for Gateway Fellowship allowing us to host the retreat using their very large fellowship building. We hope to reach more and more women in our community with the gospel and hoping that with such a large church more women will invite their friends and family. So as you can see, it has only been a few years but God willing many more in the future. We will go where God opens doors. If a fellowship in the south end or in the central Kitsap area desire to open their doors, we most certainly will pray about it and we ask that you pray for His guidance as well. We have been so blessed that the speakers/teachers that have come including Shannon dont ask for anything. If fact, they have said if you can pay our travel, that would be appreciated. So the breakdown of funds are as such: Airfare, hotel if needed, lunch for every woman, coffee, tea, water, treats. We provide the additional toilet paper, hand towels, hand soap, paper plates, cups, cutlery, napkins, etc...scholarships, and a cleaning fee for the facility that we use. No one is paid, all volunteer their time. Whatever is left over we give to the ministry the speaker represents. It has been an exciting privilege to witness Gods provision all for under $20 per person. God is so good! One last question was, who will be teaching the retreat in 2015. Someone has been asked and will give us the answer soon. God knows. I appreciate the questions and the interest that many of you are expressing and please feel free to contact me at the mentioned number on this event page. God bless you, Shelly Love
