I received confirmation that former U.S. Olympian and current director of Track and Field programs at NC A&T University, Duane Ross, will return home to the Dallas Community Pep Rally next Saturday, August 16 to be part of the kickoff event to the school year. Duane is one of many people committed to this event. Its not everyday you get to rub elbows with an Olympic athlete. Its totally free to attend this event in downtown Dallas, NC and everyone is invited to attend. Live music will be provided by Katie Comer, Schafewood and Friends, and Laramey Watson and many several food vendors will be on site. We also will honor our Pep Rally Queen Miss Abby Grace Ferguson. We have a bouncy house, a dunking booth, a rock wall provided by the NC Army National Guard, a basketball shoot, face painting, and Dallas area schools will be present. Several local churches and individuals have signed up to hand out free school supplies. Youre not going to want to miss this event!
