I received this from a dear friend today & want to share it: I received this from my brother and I think it is important enough to pass it on. Irv F My friend, Lila Schein, and I had a meeting two weeks ago with the editor of The Ventura County Star about why they are not printing stories about what happened in Paris where a mob of muslims with knives, axes, and broken bottles, rioted in the streets and ended up at the Synagogue Don Isaac Abravanel, where there were anywhere from 200 to 400 families with children who’d gathered to pray for peace in the Middle East. The riots came about from a march through the area and police were asked to be at the Synagogue but said they had everything under control. They Didn’t! The private security hired by the Synagogue held the rioters off (there were about 1,000) and when the police came, it took a few hours for them to get things under control. All this while, children were hearing “Death to the Jews” and “Kill the Jews”. When the rioters were gone, under police protection, people left the Synagogue to go home. A few days later, the same thing happened in another area of Paris where a Molotov cocktail was thrown at a Synagogue. Luckily no one was hurt. At the same time in Germany, muslims were rioting and not only screaming, “Kill the Jews” and “Death to the Jews”, but also “Gas the Jews”! This in Germany!!! Have you read anything or heard anything about these events in your newspapers? We hadn’t. We did see, a week or so later, a story on CNN. Other than that, nothing. I sent a long email to the LA Times and about a weeks later, there was a story in their second section. I don’t take credit for that, but it couldn’t have hurt. The meeting with the editor went well. we brought a copy of In the Garden of Beasts, by Erik Larson, which everyone should read. He said he’s read it. In spite of all the good feelings, there still hasn’t been anything published about what happened. Today, I received this email from my high school buddy, Marty, and I am forwarding it to everyone I know in the hope that you’ll read it, become aware of what our newspapers and 6:30 pm newscasts aren’t reporting, and become an activist. In Bondy, 15 men beat up members of a Jewish football team with sticks and metal bars. 8. The bus that takes Jewish children to school in Aubervilliers has been attacked three times in the last 14 months. 9. According to the Police, metropolitan Paris has seen 10 to 12 anti-Jewish incidents PER DAY in the past 30 days. 10. Walls in Jewish neighborhoods have been defaced with slogans proclaiming Jews to the gas chambers and Death to the Jews. 11. A gunman opened fire on a kosher butchers shop (and, of course, the butcher) in Toulouse, France 12. A Jewish couple in their 20s were beaten up by five men in Villeurbanne -France (the woman was pregnant). 13. A Jewish school was broken into and vandalized in Sarcelles , France .. So I call on you, whether you are a fellow Jew, a friend, or merely a person with the capacity and desire to distinguish decency from depravity, to do - at least - these three simple things: First, care enough to stay informed. Dont ever let yourself become deluded into thinking that this is not your fight. I remind you of what Pastor Neimollersaid in World War II: First they came for the Communists, and I didnt speak up, because I wasnt a Communist Then they came for the Jews, and I didnt speak up, because I wasnt a Jew. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didnt speak up, because I was a Protestant. Then they came for me, and by that time there was no one left to speak up for me. Second, boycott France and French products. Only the Arab countries are more toxically anti-Semitic and, unlike them, France exports more than just oil and hatred. So boycott their wines and their perfumes Boycott their clothes and their foodstuffs. Boycott their movies. Definitely boycott their shores. If we are resolved we can exert amazing pressure and, whatever else we may know about the French, we most certainly know that they are like a cobweb in a hurricane in the face of well-directed pressure. Third, send this along to your family, your friends, and your co-workers.
