I received word today that my Uncle , Haran Woolbright, passed away today. He was a World War II veteran. Most people didnt know that he was awarded the Silver Star and Purple Heart. He was wounded twice on Okinawa while charging a Japanese pillbox. He was shot in the head and a grenade exploded by him causing severe injuries. He recovered from his wounds to live a full life. He was truly a member of the Greatest Generation. Old soldiers never die. They simply fade away. Rest on Peace Old Soldier
