I recently had my good friend and colleague from The Xanadu Life Heidi Hong swing by The Meeting of The Minds to give everyone the scoop on our OFFICIAL 2014 XANADU Island Adventue which is happening this Saturday September 20th. Taking over a private 600 person 3 story boat leaving from Long Beach to Two Harbors Catalina at 10 am! Everybody thats in my network knows that Xanadu was a massive part of my life last year and although I wasnt as heavily involved in the coordinating process this year (due to family and career obligations), I can honestly say that I have met some of the greatest and most genuine people in my life through this event, many of whom have become some of my closest friends to this day. Xanadu is also the main inspiration behind The Meeting of the Minds, since we used the rooftop last year as a space for all of our staff, talent, and volunteers to meet and discuss the festival, which in turn led me to continue hosting gatherings where people could take part in engaging group discussions based on forward thinking topics, the last of which was the greatest lessons weve learned in life. One year later, as I witness the evolution of Xanadu, I am not only proud to be part of a movement that promotes a more eco friendly and physically active lifestyle but also one of the few communities Ive witnessed which continues its mission year round through numerous outdoor expeditions and group retreats, creating a family of adventure seekers with this event being our ultimate reunion aka our mutha truckin pacific pilgrimage. Excited to sail away with a bunch of you guys this saturday, and for my potential new island brothers and sisters sitting on the fence, you have 24 hours to make your choice. In the meantime Ill be practicing my warrior 2 in a clear colored pee puddle of awesome anticipation.
