I recently moved across country and My 20 year old Percheron has TANKED sense moving here. I mean hes lost 200 pounds in 3 months! Flys are literally eating him alive! I spray with quality spray, keep my paddock clean and none of my other horses are affected. They are wormed every 3 months with quality rotated wormers. Who has dealt with this?! Fezsick (my Percheron) didnt even have a cut when I took him off the trailer. But 2 days later he had a leasion the size of the Palm of my hand! Hes wrapped with a flymask I made for his foot 24-7! But if he gets it off the flys shread him again! I was told to mix a quest wormer, swat, Benadryl cream, and triple antibiotic ointment. Apply to a cleaned debrided area twice daily. It worked great initially... But hes at a stale time as far as healing... I need suggestions and testimonys from your experiences. Unfortunately... Hes going lame now too:-( Im not looking for condolences- I need ideas! -stall rest is not an option, I have none -Wraps no matter how well done fall off.
