I recieved this call recently but didnt call back. I didnt realize it was so wide spread. Plz pass this around to minimize people being victimized. I Remember when I worked the Fraud Unit at SJPD, the elderly easily fall prey to this type of scam so let your elderly friends & relatives know about this. We also need to report this to the correct authorities. I think the US Treasury would like to know and investigate someone impersonating them. Im sure someone has been gullible enough to send them some money. Please report attempts to defraud by subjects identifying themselves as the US Treasury. The US Treasurys toll free Hotline 800-359-3898. I left a msg today and summarized this post.
