I remain undecided on this whole independence thing, and selfishly, Im mostly interested in what affects ME, and MY FAMILY, and our well being Im afraid, rather than some perceived interpretation of the greater good one way or the other. What Id like to know personally though, if the result is YES is this. What will be my personal allowance for income tax purposes. What will be the starting basic and higher rates of income tax, and what will be the thresholds at which these rates are paid? What will corporation tax be? What will VAT be? What will Inheritance tax be, and what will the threshold for it be? Will we still have council tax, or will it be replaced by something else? Will we have our own stock market? If so, how will it work, who will regulate it? Will I still get tax relief on pension contributions? If so, up to what level of contribution? Will fuel duty remain the same? Or will the potentially new country not see motorists as a big fat cash cow they can bend over the table at every opportunity and see this as a way to give something back to the people who gave them power? If anyone wants to give vitriolic abusive answers to this in an uncivilised manner, their posts will be deleted, these are genuine questions, and before anyone tells me to go and research the answers for myself, if I was a politician, these are the things Id be ensuring the people knew about... Call me selfish, but Im interested only in whats good for me and mine, thats the way the world is these days Im afraid
