I remember in college my brother Michael Pinkston giving this cassette to me and it ministering to me so much. Several of the songs were no longer songs to me but verbalized prayers, prayers I would pray over and over again until I would wear out the cassette (something the younger generation will never experience), songs like Wash Over Me, Come Lord & Fragrant Oil. These songs were prayers, prayers that spoke to me in a broken, empty place. A place where a bible college student reaches their third year, remembering my freshman year at how cynical juniors and seniors were, I knew I never wanted to lose my fire. In the middle of that Junior year, feeling like that fire was waning, I had a prophetic voice, the voice of David Ruis sing me back to intimacy. We went through 4 or 5 copies of that cassette. Wearing out one or two, giving several away and eventually buying the CD. Are you hurting right now? Need healing? Wondering where God is? Listen to Wash Over Me, alone, and watch what He does!
