I remember sitting in keyboard class at Stuart Middle and hearing the principal tell us that we were on locked down.. Not really understanding what was going on, after all you never heard the words terrorists attacks before this.. It was always Freedom.. After all you only read about stuff like this in your history book from many many many years ago.. I remember being picked up and my moms heart was broken because it was her home town, she visited the towers with her family as little girl.. And still not understanding.. as a child, you think its a building they can re build it or accidents happen.. Than I remember watching the news for weeks and finally understanding the lose of the families, the importance of their life, these building, the people, the heros.. the damage it has caused us.. that freedom suddenly became a word in a book and terrorists replaced it.. that the stuff I learned in history, would soon happen again.. a war, fighting battles.. that one day my own child would read about sitting in a classroom.. hoping that by that time, freedom came back.. and life moved forward.. but 13 yrs late, this event still lives on.. still a war..still the fears..still many hearts destroyed.. - its a day us as Americans will never forget.. A day we remember the love, the freedom and the heros.. a day we all come together.. a day we will never forget
