I remember this day September 10th, 2004 like it was yesterday. Filled with anxiety and worry and under tremendous stress I rushed the final preparations of our house and property. On September 11, 2004 we realized we were on a collision course with a powerful category 5 hurricane and would begin feeling the effects through the night. With all preparations to our property completed there was nothing else to do but wait. Around 5 pm we made our final phone call home to family, and after discussing all the possible scenarios of what could go wrong, and what to do in the event of this or that, we decided to change locations and seek shelter in a safer place!! So, like scared jack rabbits we scampered into town to what ended up being the best decision we could ever have made... when I returned home on September 14th this is what I found.
