I remember this one time after dad had died and mom was on her own. I was staying with her just to make sure there was another body in the trailer. It was late at night and you could tell when my mom was shuffling around the house in the dark. This one night I was asleep on the floor in the living room and I awoke to my my pumping up a pellet gun. Listening more I could hear the hoof of a horse in the yard. My mother slowly shuffled toward the door. Opened it. Opened the screen door, stretching the springs. I could hear her creak down the old wooden porch. Then, puck. Immediately after I heard a voice. I yawh. She nailed some one with that pellet gun. She came back inside grumbling about someone who shouldnt be creeping around her yard.
