I rescued Finley from the Orange Co. Animal Shelter on 8/16/13. He was scheduled to be put down on 8/21/13. After several weeks together, and with help from an amazing animal behaviorist, I now know Finley is a hunter at heart. This piece of his personality makes it impossible to keep in my neighborhood setting. He shows signs of training in both retrieval and scent tracking and could be further trained by the right person. It was described to me like this…asking Finley not to hunt is like asking Derek Jeter not to play baseball. No easy task. So I am searching for a FOREVER HOME for Finley where he has plenty of room to run but can be part of a family too. The biggest issue with Finley is around small animals. He has a small prey drive that makes him incompatible with anyone who already has small animals at home.
