I salute all veterans of the U.S. Armed forces, especially those - TopicsExpress

I salute all veterans of the U.S. Armed forces, especially those in my immediate family. My mom married an enlisted Navy sailor, my dad, Eugene, who did two tours of duty in war zones, served in the Korean War. My only (and favorite) sister, Kathy, married 2nd Lt. Julian Brown, a Naval Officer who quickly rose in rank, and now their son, Steven Brown, is a Captain in the U.S. Army. My oldest brother, Billy Gene Savage, served as a Drill Sargent and did a tour of duty in Viet Nam during the Viet Nam War. My second oldest brother, Edgar Savage, toured in Korea, was a Specialist E-5, and was a member of the elite Special Forces unit. My fourth oldest brother, Josef Savage, also an E-5, served in Italy, was also Airborne, and is now a retired Army soldier. My youngest brother, Gary Savage, also an E-5, did tours overseas, too, and is also now a retired Army veteran. I often wish I had served, but, I didnt. At any rate, I am proud of all those who served to protect our freedom and to preserve our way of life. As one who often uses the freedoms many Americans take for granted, I am especially indebted to their service and bravery. I salute all of our veterans and I thank them on Veterans Day and all year long, too. SALUTE!
